Is Self Sufficiency Possible? - The Bar

In order to try and make the space become a self sufficient community center, we came up with different ideas that might be feasible for the space. We have appointments planned with CAP and the local high school in the area to see if they have any interest in the space. By gauging their interest, we can start to move forward and make a more concrete plan for the space with it. We have also found out that self-sufficiency  in terms of community centers usually cover only about a little more than half the total cost. In order to offset the amount that the community center would have to pay out of pocket we can host things like soliciting donations as well as trying to turn it into another space meanwhile as well. An example would be making the space into a parttime baby sitting area and part time community center. Another idea we came up with was having the space advertise businesses in places such as windows and probably inside the bar as well. This can try and keep a stream of advertisement coming into the bar. One last idea we came up with is having someone from the community to actually have a stake within this community space. The plan would be that they would try and turn it into a non profit that serves the community and can use grants from the government as well as several methods above to offset the total costs. We are continuing to ideate on this branch of thought.
